Ohio Nutrition Council
Networking, nutrition knowledge, creativity, and skill for a healthier Ohio
Ohio Nutrition Council is a network of individuals representing many diverse organizations, institutions, agencies, businesses, universities, and colleges all concerned about the nutritional health and well-being of Ohio citizens. The group meets formally three to four times each year to share ideas and concerns, information about programs being developed, and ways to work together.
Ohio Nutrition Council membership and active participation leads to greater individual program successes as members work together and learn from one another.
Ohio Nutrition Council became an affiliate of the Society for Nutrition Education in 1989 providing a link to this national organization.

Milk: Don't Let the Flavor Fool You
Kids today are missing out on critical nutrients they need for growth and good health, such as calcium, potassium and vitamin D, identified as “nutrients of concern” in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.. Flavored milk provides the same powerful package of nine essential nutrients as white milk – giving kids a choice can help assure they get the nutrients they need. Studies show that children who choose to drink flavored milk meet their nutrient needs; do not consume more added sugar, fat or calories; and are not heavier than non-milk drinkers.
